Is IPTV legal? What you need to know

IPTV itself is legal

Many TV and internet providers deliver their TV service over IPTV. The technology is completely normal.

Media players are legal

A playlist is legal when the provider has the rights to the channels and films. In 2017 the EU Court of Justice ruled (Filmspeler case) that streaming from a clearly unlicensed source can be illegal.

How to recognise a legal provider

Look for clear company details, licence information, normal invoices and prices in line with the market.
