Stop IBO Player buffering and freezing

Buffering almost always comes from the connection or the playlist server, not from the app itself. These steps help in most cases.

1

Measure your speed

HD needs about 10 Mbit/s and 4K about 25 Mbit/s for every screen that is watching at the same time.

2

Use a network cable

Wi-Fi loses speed through walls. A cable or an access point near the TV often fixes buffering straight away.

3

Restart your router

Switch the router off for 30 seconds. After a long time online this clears congestion.

4

Change the player settings

In the IBO Player settings, try another player type or a larger buffer. Some TVs play more smoothly with a different player.

5

Test another channel or time

If only some channels buffer, or only in the evening, the playlist server is busy. Ask your playlist provider.

6

Switch off a VPN to test

A VPN can slow streams down. Turn it off briefly to see whether buffering stops.
